Most of these commentators would have better content if they had a weekly (or simply less frequent) show verses a daily show. They simply have to react to everything to put out episodes and sound bites and in their haste they create nearly as much contention and harm as they create positive impact. It’s true of everyone with a show on all sides of the issues. And of everyone that has deadlines. Perhaps the thing I enjoy most about what you’re doing is that you seem to create content when there is enough to go on and when you’ve had the opportunity to work through your thoughts. I hope you can keep doing so and don’t have to start pumping the content for the sake of content and deadlines.

Illumination has never made a movie better than "okay". But I'm not the target audience.

As a manchild, I love the idea of an adult-oriented Scooby-Doo. Velma is the worst possible implementation of it. The live-action movie from 2002 did the sardonic parody approach better, as did the TV special "Night of the Living Doo". The TV show Scooby-Doo: Mystery Incorporated, while still being for kids, did the "serialized relationship approach" better. I wish they gave Velma's creative freedom to those guys, or other people who love the franchise.

I feel like the writers that fail to properly fold theme(s) into their narratives don't truly understand those themes enough. I think writers aren't wrestling with these ideas long enough to develop an intimate understanding of them before slapping them into a screenplay. The same goes for tropes and clichés which, like a tool in a toolbox, is only as good as the writer who uses them. I was annoyed with Disney's "Wish" because it didn't actually explore the good and bad of wishes in a society (quite literally) built around them. The "Wishes are always good and everyone should have an opportunity to get them" argument is not nuanced and doesn't give a well-rounded depiction of a person's wish. I think that movie would've been much better if either Asha, the movie's protagonist, and Magnifico, the antagonist, had more time to go back and forth or if the supporting characters brought in their own perspectives of what a wish is and whether everyone should have it granted.

I'm shocked you're not in support of this. For years Disney has had a monopoly on large scale kids entertainment. The daily wire have said they are interested in creating a product that stays true to the source material as a means to provide competetion. This is great new for a capitalist market as Disney has already had to change their product several times (different looking dwarves as an example). If anything, the daily wire will force Disney to create a product that is very safe and family friendly, which is a far cry to what we were originally getting.

I had a nephew taken into foster care a few years ago. We tried to adopt him once it was clear reunification wasn't happening. Our experience with social workers was so bad that I am unwilling to have them anywhere near my house while my children are at an age where they could be taken away. I don't trust social workers. I assume that anything they're saying is a lie. Perhaps I'll try once my kids are grown but there's no chance now.

NGL I was shocked when they said that the female character was female. She looks like a dude, from the 80s. I've seen men and gay men look more and pass off as actual women when dressed up as one.
